World Day of Social Justice 2010
The United Nations' (UN) World Day of Social Justice is yearly celebrated on February 20 to cheer people to note that how social justice have an effect on paucity abolition. Social justice has been at the hub of communal safety expansions for more than a century. Social security systems defend people against the dangers of life, thus strengthening social unity, constancy and harmony. The World Day distinguishes that civilization must be supported by social justice, a high opinion for human rights and essential freedoms – and on the right to communal guard for all. It also centres on the objective of attaining full employment and support for communal incorporation.
Social Justice can mean many things to many people, but in a wider context it includes addressing social issues such as poverty, unemployment, access to health and education, development, access to justice and equality.
The World Day of Social Justice was celebrated for the first time just last year, although the relevant UN resolution was passed in 2007. It was in that year recognizing the need to promote efforts to tackle issues such as poverty, exclusion and unemployment, the United Nations General Assembly decided to observe February 20 annually as the World Day of Social Justice.
